Glasgow 2014 selects Dog Digital

Glasgow 2014, the Organising Committee (OC) for the 20th Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow between 23rd July and 3rd August 2014, has appointed digital communications specialists Dog Digital, to develop a new website and digital communications platform.

The site will be designed to reflect the new Glasgow 2014 brand identity, currently in development, and will introduce site functionality in line with the OCs planned objectives during the preparation and build-up phases of the Games.

Dog Digital came out on top after a competitive pitch process and are naturally delighted to be working with the OC. "Glasgow 2014 is the largest and most high profile sporting event for the City of Glasgow and Scotland in the next five years and we are thrilled with the OCs decision to appoint Dog Digital to develop this site and for the opportunity to join the Glasgow 2014 team" said David Hamilton, Client Services Director for Dog Digital.

With a budget of 373 million (at April 2007 prices) including public investment of 298m the Commonwealth Games are expected to bring significant sporting, economic and social benefits to Glasgow and Scotland. The budget for revenues raised through sponsorship, merchandising, ticket sales and the sale of broadcast rights for the Games is 75 million. Sponsorship accounts for 23.5 million of this target. Responsibilities of Glasgow 2014 Ltd. include delivering the sports programme, monitoring the development of new and improved infrastructure, ensuring all venues are Games-ready, recruiting and training the 15,000 volunteers needed for the Games, transport, security, catering and the staging of ceremonies.
